Sintra Naturals Review
Sintra Naturals is an all natural, organic skin care company owned and run by its founder, Geethika. Now based in Macclesfield near Manchester, Geethika’s love for natural skin care began when she was growing up in India. Herself and her family always used natural ingredients for their skin care routine. For example, soap nuts were used for hair washing and chickpea or rice flour for body washing.
After becoming a mother, Geethika found that her son was allergic to shop bought baby soaps and lotions. She tried everything, but found that most products included synthetic fragrances and additives. That’s when she decided to pave her own way into skincare and joined a natural skin care formulations course. And she’s not looked back since; Sintra Naturals was born!
Sintra Naturals make affordable, high quality natural skin care products. All the soaps and creams are free from synthetic fragrances or additives. Most of all, Geethika believes that natural products don’t have to be expensive, so she’s made sure that her products’ price points are as accessible as possible.
I was lucky enough to be sent a selection of products from Sintra Naturals to try, and I certainly have not been disappointed! Read on to find out more…
Body Butter Bar
This luxurious, moisturising body butter bar has to be my favourite of all the Sintra Naturals products I received. It’s made from Cocoa Butter, Plant Wax, Grapeseed Oil, Peppermint Essential Oil and Vitamin E. It has been set in a floral mould, so looks beautiful as well as being insanely moisturising!
The body bar comes in a reusable tin or as a naked refill, depending on your preference, and in either a peppermint or lavender scent. I received the peppermint one and wowwwww do I love the fragrance! It’s so uplifting and refreshing when you’re smoothing it on to your body. The scent lasts really well throughout the day too, so it almost doubles up as a perfume!
To use the bar you simply swipe onto your skin, then rub in with your hands. Less is more with this one as it’s super rich – a little goes a long way!
Dish Washing Paste
As well as selling organic skin care products, Sintra Naturals also stock a kitchen essential – the dish washing paste. I was really intrigued by this product, as it’s not something I’ve seen anywhere else previously. I’m so glad I’ve been lucky enough to try it, as it’s definitely something I will continue to use for a long time!
This multi-purpose dish washing paste comes in a recyclable or reusable glass jar with aluminium lid. It’s made up of plant based ingredients and other miracle cleaning ingredients such as baking soda and vinegar. It has a subtle lemon scent and can also be used as a cleaner for stove tops and bathrooms – I love a multi purpose product!
To use, you simply take a small amount of paste from the jar (I like to use a tea spoon to scoop it out – you only need a quarter of the spoon). Run the spoon under hot, running water until the mixture falls into the sink, then swish around to form your bubbles. Then simply wash up as you normally would. I received two different soaps from Sintra Naturals, a Matcha Green Purity Soap and a Rose Skin Food Soap. Both of the soaps are packed full of skin loving benefits. The soaps’ lathers feel rich and luxurious, and your skin is left feeling moisturised after using them, rather than dry, like some soaps can.
The Matcha Soap is made up of Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk, Calendula Flowers and dried Matcha Green Tea Powder. Calendula flowers are known for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe dry and itchy skin. Matcha Green Tea Powder also has soothing properties, and contains antioxidants that can help to clarify the skin.
During the Covid-19 outbreak, it’s been more important than ever to wash your hands. However, all of this washing can be damaging to the skin. Using this Matcha Soap has really helped to soothe my dry hands.
The Rose soap ingredients are Shea Butter, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Coconut Milk, Rose Petals and French Pink Clay. One of the mildest types of clay out there, French Pink Clay promotes a radiant and balanced complexion. Rose petals help the skin to retain moisture and are rich in Vitamin C, which can help prevent skin aging.
I’ve been using this soap in the shower on my arms and legs mainly, as these are the areas of my body that often get dry and have an uneven complexion. This soap coupled with the Body Butter Bar has definitely left my skin feeling clearer, brighter and more moisturised. It’s a killer combination!
I’d highly recommend checking out Sintra Naturals, Geethika certainly does know how to make products that work! Let me know if you try any of the products and how you get on with them.
